Yadagirigutta Temple: Purnima Puja

Yadagirigutta, Temple is also popularly known as Lakshminarasimha Swamy Temple. This temple is located on a hillock in the district of Nalgonda, in the state of Andhra Pradesh, in South India. The primary deity of this temple is Lord Narasimha.

The temples architectural style belongs to the Dravidian style. It is to be noted that an incarnation Lord Vishnu is Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy. It is one of the popular Hindu Temple of Narasimha Swamy. This temple has large number of devotees on public holidays and Sundays. On the other hand, throughout the year, this temple is quite busy and popular with different events of the God.

In the month of March, the annual brahmotsavam is held and it includes Yedurkolu, Divya Vimana Rathotsavam and the Celestial Wedding. On 28 April every year, the birthday of Lord Narasimha is grandly celebrated in a grand manner.

It is to be remembered that Lord Narasimha is popularly also known as Yadagiri. The Garbhagriha or sanctum sanctorum is situated in a cave that covers nearly half the abode under a huge slating rock. This temple is worshiped as Pancha Narasimha Kshetram. Lord Vishnu in different form is worshipped as Lakshminarasimha, Ugra, Gandabherunda, Yogananda and Jwala.

This temple is mentioned in the Skanda Purana. This temple is widely popular among the devotees. This is also known as “Rishi Aradhana Kshetram”. A special purnima pujas and rituals are conducted in this temple. On purnima days, devotees throng the temple from different nook and corner of Andhra Pradesh.
