Valluvan Kadav Sree Muthapan in Kannur, Kerala

The Valluvan Kadav Sree Muthappan temple is situated in in Kannadiparamba in Kannur district, in the state of Kerala. It is to be noted that there are several muthappan temples in each and every village of Kerala but this temple and its Lord has much religious and social importance among devotees.

Among these temples, the most popular temple is parassini kadav sree muthappan temple that really attracts thousands of pilgrims daily. The Valluvan Kadav Sree Muthappan Temple is nearly 400-year-old temple. It is to be noted that it was renovated recently and completed within a timeframe.

This temple also draws large numbers of devotees from different parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

According to the Hindu scholars and pundits, “In Payyavoor village, a Brahmin family known as Ayyankara and its lady of the Ayyankara royal family realized the boy who they adopted has divine power when he became the teenager.

It is to be note that the royal lady found this particular baby in the flowing river water and brought him home and looked after with great care and love. Later they installed the idol of the lord and started worshipping.”

During the days of Purnima, special pujas, rituals and homams are conducted in grant manner for the devotees with lot of devotion and dedication. Daily pujas are conducted according to the Vedic practices. The temple is kept open from morning to evening hours daily for the devotees. Women folks visit this temple foe early marriage and child boon.
