Trees great hurdle for ganpati mandals in Ganeshotsav

Most of the Pandals and Mandals in major and minor cities and towns involve in making or purchasing the Ganesh idols. Those making the Ganesh idols at their installation site don’t have any problems related to bringing the Ganesh idols but taking the Ganesh idol for immersion procession creates more trouble due to thick and tall trees that at both the sides of the road.

This usual problem is faced by those pandals and mandals who involve in bring the Ganesh idol from the place of making to installation site and from the spot of installation to immersion destination.

The major problems faced by the mandals across the nation are missing manhole covers on their immersion routes, the issue of bad roads and untrimmed trees. These types of obstacles make this 10 days festival organizer much troubles. The organizers are much worried regarding these issues ahead of this year’s 10 days celebration.

Some of the roads that have these problems in Mumbai for examples are Jagannath Shankar Seth Marg, Kalbadevi Road, Nepean Sea Road, VP Marg, Walkeshwar Road and Manav Mandir Road. These roads have trees that are to be trimmed, road leveled and open manholes closed.

Navdurg Mitra Mandal in Malabar Hill, Chairman, Sanjay Shirke said, “Many trees on these immersion routes that the idols will be brought from on September 2 are yet to be trimmed. We hope they are trimmed before then. Although the height of the idols will not be more than 18-20 feet this year, it is quite possible that they may lead to traffic issues.”
