Sree Bhavaneeswara Temple in Palluruthy, Kochi

Sree Bhavaneeswara Temple is located in Palluruthy, in the district of Kochi in the state of Kerala. It was established on 8 March 1916, by the great saint, sage and social reformer of India, Sree Narayana Guru. Sree Dharma Paripalana Yogam is managing and controlling this temple that was founded in 1904 with the blessings and guidance of Sree Narayana Guru.

A large number of devotees cutting-across the barrier of caste, creed and religion visit this temple for daily prayers and rituals.

At the temple, the main celebration is the Mahotsavam(Grand Festival), held in a grand manner for 11 days during February–March, every year. It is to be noted that Sri Narayana Jayanthi (Birth Day) and Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi day are also two important festive days at the temple. All the purnima days are given importance in this temple.

On the day immediately preceding the Mahotsavam celebrations, Swarna Dwaja Pratista Day is largely being observed every year. Sampoorna Niramala and Annadhanam is being sponsored by the devoted devotees on all Saturdays.Nava Graha Homam is being performed on all Sundays.

Special Pujas and ceremonial rituals are conducted in a grand manner on all the Hindu religious festival days and other auspicious days in this temple. The family members indulge in this pooja in order to appease lord Vishnu and achieve a person’s aims and desires fulfilled. The pujas and rituals are conducted according to the ancient Hindu tradition and culture in this temple on the request of the devotees.
