Purnima puja at Thamaramkulangara Sree Dharma Sastha Temple in Tripunithura, Kerala

Thamaramkulangara Sree Dharma Sastha Temple is located in Tripunithura, in the district of Ernakulam in the state of Kerala.

This is the temple where the daily rituals and pujas are conducted in an orderly manner according to the Vedic texts and literatures such as Nirmalya Darsanam in the early morning followed by Usha Pooja, Nivedyam, Prasanna Pooja, Temple Closes then Temple Opens, Deeparadhana, Atthazha Pooja and finally Temple Closes at dusk.

Thamaramkulangara Sree Dharma Sastha Temple is known among the devotees for its religious and social importance.

The primary deity of this temple is Lord Ayyappa. The temple is built according to the architectural styles of Kerala temples. It is to be highly noted that in the royal city of Tripunithura, Kerala, India, Thamaramkulangara Sree Dharma Sastha temple is one among the most prominent temple. It is largely dedicated to Lord Ayyappa who is with dedication and devotion worshiped as Dharma Sastha.

Initially the temple was managed by the Thamaramkulangara Ayyapa Seva Samithy (TASS) and later by Kerala Uranma Devaswom Board. The other deities in this temple are Brahmasrakshas, Nagaraja, Bhadrakali and Lord Ganesha plus many Upadevathas.

Makaravilakku is the annual festival of this temple. The temple is normally open in the morning hours and evening hours only but during the festivals and auspicious days, is opened for long hours. A devotee who prays to the Lord gets blessed with job opportunities and children. A large number of devotees pray to this Lord for the removal of obstacles marriage affairs, to education, etc.
