History and Significance of Sri Kodandaramaswami Temple, Karungalpalayam 

The temple management is regularly conducting mass prayers (Koottu Vazhipadu) to Lord Kodandaramaswami on Punarvasu star days, to Chakkarathalwar on Chitra star days, to Sri Anjaneya on Moola star days and to Lord Vinayaka on Sankatahara Chaturthi days (Chaturthi – 4th day either from full moon or new moon days).Daily procedures: Viswarupa darshan at 7.30 a.m., general darshan at 8.00 a.m., morning puja at 9.30 a.m., and a general puja at 10.30 a.m. are followed in the temple. Again the pujas begin at 4.30 p.m. with darshan pujas and again at 6.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m.

History of Sri Kodandaramaswami Temple, Karungalpalayam

A community Hall was constructed by Erode Ranga Bhavanam Trust in the year 1974 to facilitate conducting marriages, religious meetings and prayers. Shrines for Siddhi Vinayaka and the Navagrahas (9 planets) were also built. The consecration was performed by Kanchi pontiff Sri Jayendra Saraswathi. Then followed the temple for Lord Sri Kodandaramaswami. The Lord, Mother Sita and Sri Lakshmana grace from the sanctum sanctorum. Maha Samprokshanam of the temple was performed by His Holiness Srimadh Azhagia Singar Jeer, 44th pontiff of Sri Ahobil Mutt.
