Baingan Bhaja is one the most popular veggie dish for Bengalis in Navratri. Baingan Bhaja are pan fried or shallow fried marinated slices of Aubergines. There are many variations of this dish and let us see how to make delicious Baingan Bhaja.
Ingredients required to make delicious Baingan Bhaja:
- Brinjals ( prefer bigger brinjals to smaller ones in this case)
- 3 red chillies and 3 green chillies
- 1 piece of ginger
- 2 tsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- some oil for frying
- few lemon slices
- salt to taste
Process of Making Baingan Bhaja:
Now that you are ready with the ingredients, let us see how to make delicious Baingan Bhaja.
Take the brinjals and cut them into circular pieces and keep them in a bowl. Now take some green chillies, red chillies, ginger, turmeric powder and coriander seeds and mix them and make them into a fine paste in a grinder. Add some salt and mix it well.
Take the brinjal pieces and coat them with this paste on both the sides and heat them in a pan. Use some oil for frying and after that place the fried brinjal pieces on an absorbent paper to remove the extra oil. Finally add some slices of lemon and your delicious Baingan Bhaja is ready to be served hot.
